Am i ready for a pet?

I am 43 year old single mother, with one 9 year old son who has recently left me to live with his father. I work from home as a on designer and i don't make much. I would like to have animals pouncing, flying, crawling, etc. all over my apartment. I feel i have the time and most of the money to adopt either a miniature horse, a pot belly pig, a mallard, and or a platypus (if that's legal.) Am i ready for one or all of these wonderful exotic creatures of God?
