Would you agree that the hardest books have the best meanings/purpose?

Personally I don't like the phrase "they say." It leaves me with wondering who "they" are (and wondering if they are watching me right now). Beyond that, I didn't find Oliver Twist especially difficult to comprehend. However, it was pretty astonishing stuff at the time it was written. It was social commentary that led to some real change in the public's perception of the workhouses. You could possibly play on that.
