What's the person called that oversees the interrogation process and hires the person to interogate a subject?

I'm writing a script for college and it involves an interrogation scene between a human being and an alien in human form and was wondering if they call the guy that's the interrogator's boss a chief or is there another name for him that I don't know right now? I don't know much about who the people are that oversee the interrogation process, but I'd like any information that I can in order to make this script somewhat accurate. Trying to use this as a portfolio piece so I appreciate anyone that offers any feedback.
