Pets just died do I cremate them or do I bury them whole?

I had chicks turned out they had tumors I found out after they got attacked by cats I took them to the vet when they got a x ray they had found a tumor in them. I found out it seemed very painful and I had them put down. The vet is storing their bodies for me until i made my decision so which whole or cremate? If they got cremated I would keep their ashes with me at all times. So. What do you think. Don't say anything that would make me sad cause I'm already trying to sleep but I can't because all of the memories comes back and makes me cry. They are chickens but I called them chicks because they were my babies.
